The Byron
at Byron

2018  |  HOTEL  |  BYRON BAY

The upgrade of the boutique hotel’s reception area and lounge lobby, restaurant, conference facilities and connecting verandahs and breezeways was inspired by colonial Australia with solid timber and copper finessing the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Colours were informed by the natural surrounds – the rainforest’s rich sage hues, subdued oceanic blues and Eucalypt tree teals. Darker tones formalise the dining area, layered with textural upholstered patterns and antique furniture. A collaboration with Archibald finalist, Julian Meagher, resulted in a series of still life paintings of native flora and fauna hung throughout.
