Bar Brose

2016  |  RESTAURANT  |  DARLINGHURST

Balancing slick sophistication with refined minimalism via the use of elemental materials (paint, glass and artificial light), a dark and narrow cocktail and supper bar instantly transforms into a gently glowing inner-city beacon.

A tonal outpouring of Nordic blue paint soaks floors and walls towards a defining datum line framed by a mirror panel at raised seating level, instantly expanding the confines of the narrow rectangular space. Opposite, illuminated glass bricks lining the service counter and open kitchen bench further broaden the parameters. Additional space-making innovations include shallow archways and raised shelving units accentuated by lighting strips.
