2019 | MEMBERS LOUNGE | LOBBY BAR | KYOTO

Revitalising the public areas of a hotel originally designed by famed architect, Togo Murano, a midnight blue coffered ceiling plunges Bar Rokuza into a decadent nocturnal mood, whilst the Member’s Lounge and dining area were inspired by ochanoma (tea rooms in traditional houses and ryokans).

Sofas upholstered in YSL’s distinctive Opium red shade and a cocktail of brass accents shimmering under ambient lighting recalling the glamour of the 70’s disco era within the bar where interpretations of traditional shoji via glazed accordion glass screens ripple along walls. Framing the central dining room, work stations equipped with charging ports cater to business guests along the window’s perimeter, whilst lounge spaces featuring smoked oak wall paneling and integrated desks enable quiet working zones.
