2021 | CAFE | TOKYO
Unstitching the severity of its concrete fabric whilst adding an urban edge, blackened and galvanised steel plus copper elements instantly layer this café with a settled patina.
Innovative tonal references to Singe O’s offering and pioneering sustainability ethics plus playful visual nods to the coffee-making process (including paper and drip filtration) abound in keeping with the aesthetics of all their Luchetti Krelle-designed Sydney cafés. Artistic touches include a cloud-like geometrical installation by Sydney’s Renuka Fernando featuring stained recycled paper with coffee and cascara (coffee fruit tea), plus an optical wall mural by Tokyo artist, Washio Tomoyuki.
